The Celestron NexStar 8SE is one of the most popular telescopes ever made—combining a powerful 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube with an easy-to-use computerized single-fork mount. Its compact design, impressive light-gathering ability, and GoTo automation make it the perfect all-rounder for beginner to intermediate astronomers.
This unit is also fitted with Bob’s Knobs on the corrector plate, allowing easy, tool-free collimation for quick optical alignment. It is an earlier NexStar hand controller version with the RS-232 (RJ-style) port, not the newer USB variant. Functionally it performs the same as current models; you simply need a serial-to-USB adapter if you plan to connect it to a PC.
