The Sky Rover 102 mm F/7 GPS is a premium apochromatic refractor designed for users who want strong optical performance together with a more refined mechanical platform. With its 102 mm aperture, 714 mm focal length, and air-spaced triplet optical design, it is well suited to both visual observing and astrophotography.
The optical system uses an air-spaced triplet apochromatic design with a Super ED glass element to help control chromatic and spherical aberration. Sky Rover positions the APO PRO series as delivering excellent correction even at very high magnifications.
One of the main upgrades in this version is the revised mechanical layout. A mini flange near the objective cell helps improve the stability of the optical axis and focal plane, while also making future maintenance and adjustment easier.
Sky Rover has removed the older tube-integrated rear CAA from previous versions to further improve mechanical axis stability. In its place, the telescope uses a newly integrated rear CAA with laser-engraved angle markings for smoother and more precise framing during imaging.
The telescope uses new dual tube rings with multiple threaded holes on the sides for accessory mounting, together with mounting points for a counterweight bar, a narrow astronomical dovetail plate, and a patented handle compatible with both Arca and astronomical dovetail systems. Sky Rover also notes that this version has a shorter storage length than the previous generation, making it more convenient to transport.
