The Sky Rover 106MA is a multipurpose astrograph designed to combine astrophotography capability with the flexibility of a more traditional refractor. Its optical system integrates a triplet objective lens with a crescent-shaped field flattener in a unified design, creating a native flat field that supports full-frame imaging directly at prime focus.
One of the standout strengths of the 106MA is its integrated optical design. Sky Rover uses dual ED glass elements in the front lens group to improve chromatic aberration control and deliver finer image quality without sacrificing resolution.
Unlike many dedicated imaging scopes, the 106MA is also compatible with standard astronomical accessories such as diagonals and eyepieces. It can also support more advanced visual setups like binoviewers when used with an extender, making it a genuinely versatile refractor.
Sky Rover notes that the f/7 focal ratio makes focusing less demanding while still delivering sharp, high-quality images. An optional 0.8x reducer is also available, and the compact flange ring allows fine focal plane adjustment when reducer-based imaging needs extra precision.
