The Askar 107PHQ is the telescope that started the PHQ revolution, designed to be the ultimate \"do-it-all\" instrument for both beginners and experienced imagers. With a 107mm aperture, 749mm focal length, and f/7 focal ratio, it offers a perfect balance of reach, speed, and portability.
At the heart of the 107PHQ is a quadruplet air-spaced optical system featuring two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements. This design provides excellent color correction and, crucially, a naturally flat field. It supports a 44mm full-frame image circle with fine star points (RMS radius under 3um at the center) without requiring an external field flattener.
The self-flattening nature of the optical system largely eliminates the complex back-focus calculations often required with other refractors. Connect your camera, bring it to focus, and you are ready to image. This ease of use extends to visual observation, where the telescope performs admirably with standard diagonals and eyepieces, even at high magnifications.
For imaging targets requiring a wider field of view, the 107PHQ is compatible with an optional 0.7x reducer. This accessory speeds up the system to f/4.9, significantly reducing integration time. Whether shooting at f/7 or f/4.9, the telescope delivers sharp, high-contrast results.
The OTA is meticulously CNC-machined and finished with the series' signature style. It features a robust 3.4-inch rack-and-pinion focuser with a generous 95mm of travel, capable of handling heavy loads up to 8kg. The package includes tube rings, a handle, photographic adapters, and a 300mm Vixen-style dovetail plate.
