The Sky Rover 115 APO is a 115mm f/7 apochromatic refractor designed to offer a strong balance between optical performance, mechanical quality, and flexibility. Its three-element air-spaced APO design includes one ED glass element, helping deliver high contrast, controlled colour correction, and the kind of image quality expected from a serious refractor.
With a 115mm aperture and 805mm focal length, the 115 APO is well suited to lunar, planetary, and deep-sky observing while still offering enough focal length for more detailed imaging work. Sky Rover rates it at 1.01 arcsecond resolution with a limiting magnitude of 13.5, making it a capable all-round instrument in this aperture class.
One of the standout features of the 115 APO is its adaptable design. Sky Rover specifically notes that the telescope can be used for both visual observation and astrophotography, and it supports optional 1x flattener and 0.8x reducer accessories. The 1x flattener maintains the native focal ratio while correcting field curvature and coma, while the 0.8x reducer brings the system down to f/5.6 for a wider field and faster exposures.
The telescope is equipped with a 2.5-inch dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser. Sky Rover states that the focuser barrel is CNC machined and uses an anti-reflective internal design with matting paint to help suppress stray light, while the finder and dovetail plate use a multi-point mounting system to improve load handling on the side of the tube.
The 115 APO uses a detachable tube design to better support different observing and imaging configurations, including use with accessories such as binoviewers. Its retractable dew shield and compact mechanical layout also make it more practical to transport and store than many fixed-tube refractors in this class.
