The Askar 130PHQ offers a powerful 130mm aperture in a convenient flat-field package. With a 1000mm focal length and f/7.7 focal ratio, it sits comfortably in the middle of the PHQ lineup, providing excellent reach and resolution for both deep-sky imaging and planetary observation.
Featuring a quadruplet air-spaced optical system with two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements, the 130PHQ delivers superior color correction and clarity. Its inherent flat-field design supports a large 60mm image circle, making it a perfect match for full-frame and even medium-format cameras without the need for additional flatteners.
The self-flattening design removes the headache of calculating precise back-focus distances. Simply focus your camera, and the entire field is sharp. This flexibility extends to visual use, allowing for high-quality views with standard diagonals and eyepieces.
While natively an f/7.7 system, the 130PHQ can be paired with the optional 3\" 0.7x reducer to transform it into a faster f/5.4 astrograph with a 700mm focal length. This versatility allows you to switch between capturing smaller galaxies at native focal length and wider nebulae at a faster speed.
The telescope is equipped with a sturdy 3.4-inch rack-and-pinion focuser, capable of handling heavy imaging trains. It includes a complete set of photographic adapters (M68, M54, M48), tube rings, a carry handle, and a standard Losmandy-style dovetail plate.
