The Askar 160APO is a powerful 160mm refractor that strikes a balance between significant aperture and field manageability. With an 1120mm focal length and f/7 focal ratio, it provides excellent resolution and brightness for both deep-sky imaging and detailed visual observation.
The telescope utilizes a triplet air-spaced apochromatic lens design featuring one element of ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass. This optical formula ensures effective chromatic aberration correction, delivering sharp, high-contrast images with true color rendition.
Designed for portability, the 160APO features a retractable tube mechanism. The total length is just 883mm with the dew shield contracted (996mm extended), making it easier to transport than many refractors in its class. The OTA weighs 11.4kg (13.6kg fully equipped), allowing for use on manageable mounts.
For astrophotography, the user-friendly design supports optional flatteners and reducers (available separately) to optimize the field for large sensors. For visual use, the rear retractable tube section and standard 2\"/1.25\" adapters make it compatible with a wide range of diagonals and eyepieces, including binoviewers.
The 160APO comes with a complete set of accessories including robust tube rings, a handle, and an Askar 400mm Losmandy-style dovetail plate for secure mounting. The entire kit is supplied in an aluminum case for protection during storage and transport.
