A compact astrograph for wide-field imaging

The Sky Rover 56SAP pairs a 56 mm aperture with a fast f/4.8 Petzval optical system for wide-field astrophotography. Its native flat field is designed to support full-frame imaging without a separate field flattener. At 269 mm focal length, it offers a compact format for expansive views of nebulae and star fields.

Native-flat-field optics for wide fields

The quintuplet Petzval design produces a native flat field with a 45 mm image circle, supporting full-frame imaging. Because field flattening is built into the optical design, a separate flattener is not needed, avoiding the flattener-to-sensor spacing requirements typical of many astrophotography refractors.

Manual helical focusing

A broad, ribbed helical ring integrated into the telescope body provides manual focus control, with 27 mm of effective focuser travel. Its compact, manual design keeps focusing straightforward, but it is distinct from a powered focuser.

Adjust camera framing and tilt

A rear rotation mechanism with an angular scale lets you adjust camera orientation without rotating the whole telescope assembly. Integrated tilt adjustment provides another way to adjust the camera position, without implying a particular correction or result.

Check the camera connection

The camera interface is listed as M54 x 0.75 / M48 x 0.75. Before connecting your camera, check its connection and verify whether your setup requires an adapter.
