The 60 SA uses a four-element Petzval design that builds field correction into the objective. That reduces the need for external flatteners or correctors, keeping the optical train shorter and simpler while delivering an image circle intended to cover full-frame sensors.
Sky Rover specifies a native 45 mm image circle, which is the stated size required to reach full-frame coverage at prime focus. That means you can plan imaging with full-frame sensors without calculating additional back-focus for a flattener in the standard configuration.
A 2.8-inch dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser with integrated CAA provides 19 mm of travel tailored for astrophotography. The focuser end accepts M70 x 1 and M48 x 0.75 connections, simplifying attachment of camera adapters, rotators, or off-axis guiders without additional custom machining.
With a 300 mm focal length, a tube length of about 265–340 mm depending on focus position, and an OTA weight near 3 kg, the 60 SA is designed to be easy to transport and mount. Standard fittings include a Vixen-style dovetail and a proprietary handle for field handling.
