The Askar 65PHQ is the smallest and lightest model in the PHQ lineup, designed for astrophotographers who need high-quality flat-field optics in an incredibly compact package. With a 65mm aperture, 416mm focal length, and f/6.4 focal ratio, it is perfectly sized for travel and wide-field imaging.
Setting it apart from other PHQ models, the 65PHQ employs a sophisticated quintuplet (5-element) air-spaced optical design with two ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements. This advanced configuration delivers superior aberration control and a distortion-free flat field across a 44mm image circle suitable for full-frame cameras.
Like its larger siblings, the 65PHQ eliminates the need for separate field flatteners and tedious back-focus calculations. Simply bring your camera to focus for sharp stars from edge to edge. Its fast f/6.4 native speed is excellent for deep-sky objects, and the optional 0.75x reducer can further boost speed for even wider views.
Weighing only 2kg for the OTA alone (2.8kg with accessories), the 65PHQ puts minimal strain on mounts. It features a 2.5-inch rigid rack-and-pinion focuser with a 360° rotator and finer adjuster, ensuring precise focusing and framing. The package includes a comprehensive adapter set, tube rings, a handle, and a 300mm dovetail plate.
