The Sky Rover 70 SA V4 is a compact Petzval astrograph designed to deliver full-frame imaging capability in a practical, portable format. With a 70 mm aperture, 350 mm focal length, and native 45 mm image circle, it is built for wide-field astrophotography without the need for a separate reducer or field flattener.
One of the standout strengths of the 70 SA V4 is its four-element Petzval optical design. Because the correction is built into the telescope itself, the system stays simpler and more compact while still meeting the requirements of full-frame cameras.
Sky Rover notes that the V4 update mainly changes the position of the focal plane controller, making it more effective and more stable. The telescope also uses a new 2.8-inch aluminum alloy focuser with a stronger focusing tube for improved mechanical support.
The telescope is fitted with a 2.8-inch dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser with an integrated CAA and about 29 mm of travel. Sky Rover also highlights that the focuser can connect with most motor focusers, while the front of the dew shield includes reserved mounting holes for an electric lens cover and flat-field panel setup.
With its short focal length, compact physical size, and standard dovetail plate and handle, the 70 SA V4 is designed as a capable wide-field imaging telescope that remains easy to transport and mount.
