ALTO telescope cover motor

The PrimaLuceLab ALTO is a motorised telescope cover system designed to work with compatible GIOTTO smart flat field generators, turning GIOTTO into a remotely controlled motorised cap.

With ALTO installed, you can remotely open or close your telescope and capture flat calibration frames without needing to be physically at the instrument. This makes it especially useful for observatory setups, remote imaging systems, and automated calibration workflows.

ALTO connects to an EAGLE or standard Windows computer using USB-C and can be controlled with PrimaLuceLab PLAY software or third-party astronomy software through the ASCOM CoverCalibrator driver. It also includes built-in Wi-Fi, allowing control from a smartphone or tablet using the Virtual HandPad.

The integrated USB and 12 V passthrough ports allow GIOTTO to connect directly through ALTO, helping reduce cable clutter around the front of the telescope. Included Cable Locking Clips allow the GIOTTO cables to rotate together with the ALTO arm.

ALTO runs from a standard 12 V power source and is available in different versions to match different GIOTTO sizes. Choose the ALTO model that matches your GIOTTO flat field generator.

Important note: GIOTTO with ALTO does not seal the telescope front opening, so it is not recommended for capturing dark frames. Use a dark library instead.
