The Askar 80ED is a cost-effective doublet refractor designed for both visual astronomy and astrophotography. Featuring an 80mm aperture and 560mm focal length (f/7), it utilizes a two-element air-spaced objective with one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass element to control chromatic aberration and deliver sharp, high-contrast views.
Weighing only 1.7kg (2kg with accessories) and measuring just 404mm with the dew shield retracted, the 80ED is an exceptionally lightweight and travel-friendly instrument. It is easy to mount on smaller trackers or alt-azimuth mounts.
The telescope includes a pair of tube rings and a dovetail plate for easy mounting. It terminates in a standard 2-inch adapter, allowing for the attachment of diagonals, eyepieces, and other accessories.
