The Askar FMA180 is a groundbreaking optical device that features a triplet air-spaced APO objective with two ED glass elements, providing excellent chromatic aberration correction. It comes with a specially designed 0.8x reducer that transforms it into a 180mm f/4.5 sextuplet astrograph optimized for astrophotography.
In its standard configuration with the reducer, the FMA180 operates as a 180mm f/4.5 lens perfect for capturing wide-field deep-sky images. By removing the reducer, it converts into a 220mm f/5.5 triplet APO telescope suitable for visual observation or use as a high-quality finder/guider.
Weighing only 395g and measuring just 145mm in length, the FMA180 is incredibly portable. It includes a versatile finder bracket and dovetail plate system that allows it to be easily attached to standard camera tripods or telescope mounts.
