The ECCO2 is an external environmental controller that adds automatic dew‑heater power regulation to compatible PrimaLuceLab EAGLE controllers by calculating dew point from integrated sensors and connected temperature probes.

How it works

ECCO2 monitors air temperature, humidity and pressure with onboard sensors and accepts up to three external temperature probes placed near your optics. It calculates the dew point in real time and automatically adjusts the voltage supplied by an EAGLE unit to connected dew heaters, reducing the risk of dewing on optical surfaces.

Compatibility and connectivity

  • Designed to work with PrimaLuceLab EAGLE series (EAGLE5, EAGLE4, EAGLE LE, EAGLE3 and EAGLE2; EAGLE2 requires OS and EAGLE Manager updates).
  • Connects to an EAGLE via USB‑C; no separate power supply is required.
  • ASCOM driver available for use as an environmental monitor on Windows 10/11 systems (ASCOM Platform 6.5 or later).

Practical features

  • Plug‑and‑play operation through the EAGLE Manager software: enable ECCO2 and view dew point and probe readings live.
  • SMART probe detection to alert if a calibrated probe is connected to a different port or if a probe appears uncalibrated or incorrectly connected.
  • Dark mode to disable the unit LED when required.
  • Mounts to any Vixen‑style finder shoe; an adapter is included for that purpose.

Construction

ECCO2 is machined from 6061‑T6 aluminium and finished with red anodising for durability. The unit uses a USB‑C connector with a reversible plug for reliable connections in the dark.

Note: Where the original supplier text refers to optional accessories (for example the DX finder base or guide scope support), their inclusion depends on the chosen package and is not asserted here.
