The Askar FRA300 Pro is the smallest and fastest model in the FRA series, delivering professional-level performance in a highly portable package. With a 60mm aperture, 300mm focal length, and a fast f/5 native focal ratio, it is optimizing for capturing wide field views with short exposure times.
True to the 'Pro' designation, this telescope features a fully air-spaced quintuplet Petzval optical design, including one element of ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass. This advanced system boasts a central RMS radius of just 2um, delivering exceptionally sharp stars across a 44mm full-frame image circle with minimal vignetting.
The native Petzval design ensures a flat field straight out of the box, eliminating the need for a separate flattener. It also simplifies the imaging train by removing the need for strict back-focus calculations—as long as the image is in focus, it will be flat and aberration-free.
The compact OTA (just 303mm long) is CNC-machined and finished with a durable spray coating. It is equipped with a solid 2.5-inch rack-and-pinion focuser featuring a 360-degree rotator and 1:10 fine adjustment. The package includes a comprehensive set of threaded adapters (M54, M48, M42) to connect fundamentally any camera system.
Weighing only 2.26kg (3.12kg fully equipped), the FRA300 Pro is the ultimate grab-and-go astrograph. It comes complete with lightweight tube rings, a multi-functional handle, and a 300mm Vixen-style dovetail plate for easy balancing.
