Compact Smart Focusing for Serious Astrophotography

The Astroasis Oasis Focuser Rose is a compact second-generation electronic focuser designed for astrophotographers who want accurate, repeatable focusing without giving up the convenience of manual control. With its built-in clutch mechanism, you can switch quickly between motorized and manual focusing, making it a practical upgrade for both automated imaging rigs and more hands-on setups.

Smarter Second-Generation Design

Compared to the original Oasis Focuser, the Rose version introduces several important upgrades. It can be powered either through USB Type-C or 12V DC, includes motor stall detection to help protect the focuser and gears, and adds a built-in heating module for improved cold-weather operation. Astroasis also redesigned the internal electronics and connection structure for improved reliability, while reducing the overall size of the unit for a cleaner, more compact installation.

Precision Focusing with Manual Flexibility

The Oasis Focuser Rose uses a geared drive system rather than a simple coupling, helping to deliver excellent rigidity, strong backlash compensation performance, and very fine focusing precision. Astroasis specifies 14,400 steps per motor revolution, with micron-level precision depending on the telescope and focuser combination.

A key advantage of the design is the clutch function, which allows fast switching between motorized operation and manual focus adjustment. This makes it especially attractive for users who want automation without losing the familiar feel and convenience of direct manual control when needed.

Built for Modern Imaging Workflows

The Rose supports USB HID communication, which means no separate driver installation is required for basic connection on Windows, Linux, or macOS. It also supports ASCOM, INDI, and INDIGO, making it easy to integrate into a wide range of astrophotography software environments. Bluetooth support adds another layer of flexibility for mobile and wireless control.

Two temperature sensors are included: one monitors board temperature, while the external probe monitors ambient temperature. Together with the built-in heating function, this helps the focuser remain reliable in more demanding imaging conditions.

Compact, Strong, and Telescope-Specific

The Oasis Focuser Rose has a compact main assembly measuring 62.5mm x 36mm and weighs just 137g, yet Astroasis rates it for net loads above 5kg. Installation is telescope-dependent, using different clamps or adapters depending on the focuser design of the scope, so it is best matched with the correct clamp or adapter set for the intended telescope.

For astrophotographers looking for a compact, refined, and highly capable autofocus solution, the Oasis Focuser Rose offers an impressive blend of precision, flexibility, and thoughtful engineering.
