Need help with PE230 Pier Extension with Mini DC Hub?
The Proxisky PE230 is a heavy-duty pier extension designed for demanding astronomy and astrophotography setups. With a height of 230 mm, a substantial 130 mm diameter body and a rated load capacity of up to 100 kg, it provides a rigid platform for heavier mounts, telescopes and imaging equipment.
In addition to increasing mount height and telescope clearance, the PE230 incorporates a convenient mini DC power hub directly into the pier extension. This helps simplify cable routing around the mount and provides a central power distribution point for compatible astronomy equipment.
Designed for larger and heavier configurations, the PE230 supports loads of up to 100 kg. Its 130 mm diameter body provides a substantial mounting platform, making it well suited to observatory-style equipment as well as heavier portable astrophotography rigs.
The 230 mm extension increases the distance between the tripod or pier and the mount, providing additional clearance for longer optical tubes and imaging trains. This can help reduce the risk of the telescope or attached equipment contacting the tripod legs while tracking or slewing.
A built-in mini DC hub provides 2 DC inputs and 3 DC outputs, allowing power distribution to be handled directly at the pier extension. This can help reduce long cable runs and keep power connections around the mount more organised.
The PE230 is compatible with all currently available Proxisky mounts and wedges, making it a versatile upgrade for existing Proxisky mounting systems where additional height, increased load capacity and integrated power distribution are required.
