Need help with Ring mount system for Rokinon / Samyang 135mm F2 lens?
A custom-designed mounting system for the popular Samyang / Rokinon 135 mm f/2 lens, developed specifically for astrophotography use.
The system securely supports the lens at both the front and rear using two hinged clamping rings, while providing a rigid platform for mounting the lens to an equatorial mount and attaching additional accessories.
The lens is supported by two separate hinged rings sized for the front and rear sections of the Samyang / Rokinon 135 mm f/2. Soft internal padding protects the lens barrel while allowing the rings to clamp securely without excessive pressure.
Both rings use the same external profile and include multiple integrated M6 mounting points, allowing accessories and additional rails to be attached to the top, sides or underside of the system.
A dedicated GT2 timing gear clamps around the rubber focusing ring of the lens and allows it to be driven by a compatible electronic focuser using a standard 6 mm GT2 timing belt.
The gear is designed to clamp securely around the focusing ring without requiring permanent modification to the lens.
The lower mounting rail provides a Vixen-style interface for attaching the complete lens assembly directly to a compatible telescope mount or saddle.
Mounts for Astroasis Oasis focuser and ZWO EAF included.
Additional mounting rails and accessory plates can be fitted to the integrated mounting points on the lens rings, making the system suitable for adding equipment such as an electronic focuser, guide scope, control computer or other lightweight astrophotography accessories.
The components are manufactured from PETG for a combination of strength, slight flexibility and good temperature resistance. Stainless steel fasteners and captive nuts are used at the main attachment points for improved durability and repeatable assembly.
This mounting system is designed specifically around the dimensions of the Samyang / Rokinon 135 mm f/2 lens and provides a compact, modular alternative to conventional camera-lens mounting arrangements.
