The Wanderer Snowflake 7+1 Low-Profile Filter Wheel is a professional motorised filter wheel designed for monochrome astrophotography setups where backfocus, rigidity, and light sealing matter.

Its 7+1 eight-slot layout gives you seven primary filter positions plus an eighth position for the included dark filter or an additional unmounted filter. This allows automated dark-frame capture without manually covering the telescope.

The Snowflake range is available in three versions: a 16 mm low-profile model for 2" mounted or 50 mm unmounted filters, a 14 mm super low-profile model for 50 mm unmounted filters, and a 14 mm super low-profile model for 36 mm unmounted filters.

The fully enclosed body, one-piece filter mask, stepped light-blocking grooves, and included foam sealing ring help reduce stray light. Conventional individual filter masks are also included for users who need a different filter-mounting arrangement.

A gear-driven mechanism with anti-backlash damping and high-precision sensors provides repeatable filter positioning, which is especially useful for consistent flats. The Snowflake also includes a built-in 12 V hub output to simplify cable routing around the camera and filter wheel.

The Snowflake filter wheel supports ASCOM control through WandererEmpire and can be used with imaging software such as N.I.N.A. Multiple Snowflake wheels can be connected and identified individually through the ASCOM driver.

Important note: the 2" compatible version supports seven mounted 2" filters. Slot 8 does not support a mounted 2" filter and is intended for the included dark filter or a 50 mm unmounted filter.
