Vaonis Vespera 3 is a 50 mm smart telescope that brings optics, a camera, a motorised mount and imaging software together in an app-controlled system. Singularity guides you through the session while automating alignment, target acquisition, tracking, focusing and live stacking. You still choose what to observe and take part in the process; this is an imaging-focused telescope, not a replacement for every kind of telescope.

The 50 mm aperture and 245 mm focal length sit in a fast f/4.9 apochromatic quadruplet design, with a refined field corrector for a flatter image field. The revised optics are designed to support sharpness and colour performance. An integrated baffle helps reduce stray light from nearby artificial sources, but it does not remove overall skyglow from light pollution.
The sensor’s native view is 2.6° × 1.4° at 8.3 MP. For larger targets, CovalENS automatically captures and combines adjacent areas of sky into mosaics up to 24 MP and 4.3° × 2.4°. That gives you room to frame extended objects more widely while the sensor’s native resolution remains 8.3 MP.
App-guided automation takes care of alignment, target acquisition, tracking and focusing, then stacks incoming frames as the session progresses. For projects that span multiple nights, Vespera 3 can resume with the framing, exposure settings, mosaic progress and stacking progress retained. You can continue gathering data without rebuilding the project each time.
Live stacking aligns and combines frames during the session, progressively building the image. Afterwards, choose a pre-stacked 16-bit file for further processing, or work from individual 16-bit FITS frames. JPG, TIFF and FITS are the listed image formats, giving you options for viewing and post-processing without implying that every format has the same bit depth.
The built-in battery is rated for up to 11 hours, and 115 GB of internal storage provides space for captured data. An automatic anti-fog system uses temperature and humidity information to help protect the front optics when conditions call for it. Actual battery runtime will depend on use.
The included adjustable aluminium tripod has an integrated bubble level and adjusts from 10 to 91 cm high. Its maximum payload is 14 kg. A protective lens cap is also included, so the optical front can be covered when the telescope is not in use.
