The Vaonis Vespera Light Pollution Filter, also known as a CLS filter, is designed to reduce the effects of artificial sky glow when observing or imaging from urban and suburban locations.

Reduce unwanted city light

The broadband filter attenuates wavelengths associated with sodium and mercury lighting while allowing key wavelengths from astronomical objects to pass through. This helps darken the background sky and improve the contrast of deep-sky targets.

Useful for a wide range of objects

The filter can be used for imaging nebulae, star clusters and galaxies, with particularly noticeable benefits on emission nebulae when observing from areas affected by light pollution.

Automatic Vespera integration

The filter fits directly into the Vespera optical arm and includes an electronic identification board. Once installed, the telescope automatically detects the filter and adapts its imaging parameters accordingly.

Compact and protected

The filter is supplied in a transparent storage box for protection when not in use.
